15 Minute Mind-Blowing
Skincare Routines

Don’t we all dream of flaunting gorgeous, flawless, and glowing skin without investing too much time and effort? But amidst family life, daily chores, work tasks, and everything else that keeps us busy, an effective skincare routine finds itself on the bottom rung of the priority ladder. While mornings slip by in a haze of rush and chaos, evenings are often spent scrambling to get the house chores done with barely any time for rest and leisure.

Our skin needs consistent care and time to flourish and thrive. However, here’s a 15-minute mind-blowing skincare routine that you can squeeze in at any time of the day and give your skin some much-deserved care and nourishment.

●    Cleansing

From dust and dirt to grime and pollution, your skin weathers a lot throughout the day. Cleansing your skin thus becomes an essential first step of any skincare routine.

Unless you slept with your makeup on (which is a strict no-no), your morning cleanse should include a gentle, low pH cleanser. If you have dry skin, a splash of water is all you need.

After work or before sleeping, use an oil cleanser and face wash to get the day’s grime off your face and unclog your pores. If you’ve worn makeup, use a double cleanse method with an oil cleanser or micellar water. Always make sure to pat your skin dry using a soft napkin. Never rub your skin.

●    Toning

If you don’t struggle with oily skin, you’ve probably never invested in a toner. Here’s a little secret. It’s an awesome product that not only controls oil and restores your skin’s pH level, but it also helps shrink pores!

Avoid the harsh stuff that will age your skin and try an alcohol-free, hydrating toner. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin, etc., to restore your skin’s moisture balance.

Homemade cucumber juice or rose water can also be great alternatives if you’re looking to DIY with natural ingredients.

●    Serum

Serums are a great way to treat specific skin concerns. They’re usually very lightweight on the skin and leave your skin nourished and healthy. Depending on your skin concerns, use serums with ingredients such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide.

●    Moisturizer

Like our body, our skin needs water to flourish. Hydrated skin produces less sebum and remains plump and youthful.

If you have oily skin, you can use a gel moisturizer, and if you have sensitive or dry skin, a thicker, more occlusive moisturizer will work best. It’s recommended to moisturize at least twice a day, morning and night.

●    Sunscreen

Your morning skincare routine must include SPF sunscreen. Harmful UV rays are your skin’s worst enemy, responsible for skin aging and a plethora of other skin problems. Most women will consider sunscreen essential for summer. However, a sun protector is an all-year-round product.

Don’t miss this step even if you stay indoors as the UV rays can seep through the windows. For best results, your sunscreen must have a minimum SPF of 30. And if you’re stepping out for long hours, reapply your sunscreen every two hours.

●    Exfoliate

Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week to get rid of any dead skin buildup and give your skin a healthy glow. Make sure not to overdo it, though, as exfoliation can strip your skin of moisture and make it dry and rough.

Use your AHAs and BHAs on alternate days, and start slow. You can also use natural ingredients like oatmeal, mild sugar, or yogurt.

Conclusion

A good skincare routine doesn’t have to involve 20 steps. A short 15-minute routine done consistently can also give you mind-blowing results!

Keep in mind that along with the above steps, you must also eat healthily, drink lots of water, and exercise regularly to maintain your skin health.

Haven’t given your skin a second thought till now? Don’t put off a good skincare routine! The sooner you develop this habit, the more youthful you’ll look as the years go by.
